Russell Smith and Nick Stovold started Hunter Selection from the humble surroundings of a small loft office with one phone line – taking it in turns to make phone calls! Russell was an experienced Managing Director of a nationwide recruitment and training organisation, keen to build a business with all the values and beliefs that had made him successful. And Nick was looking for his next competitive challenge following his successes as a cricketer.

The marketplace responded positively to our professional and open approach and we quickly outgrew the loft and moved to the magnificent surroundings of Leigh Court. Very soon we had begun recruiting for ourselves. 2007 saw the opening of our Cardiff office, headed up by Richard Davies who joined the business as a top performer in Engineering Recruitment.

With plenty of hard work and perseverance, we continued to grow, and we opened a Coventry office in 2010, and a Stafford office in 2015.

At Hunter Selection, we have steered a course through many tough economic times and made sure that we were ready each time to take full advantage of the upturn. Through these times we have stuck by our staff and continued to advertise and invest. It’s at times like these that teamwork, loyalty, and tenacity really matter.

Within our head office in Bristol we now have dedicated specialist teams in Technology, Service, and Facilities, Fire & Security in addition to Engineering & Manufacturing teams in all offices.
