ENGINEERING TEAM LEADER

Due to continued expansion across the business, our client, a market leading Food manufacturer and supplier to all of the major supermarkets is seeking to enhance its Maintenance Engineering team with the appointment of an Engineering Team Leader.
Supporting several high-profile supermarkets, this role offers the opportunity to work for a true market leader and established global brand. With progressive training and development this role allows potential promotion in the longer term. With a long-established presence on a UK wide scale and a consistent order book this opportunity will appeal to a candidate looking for job security and a technical challenge.
*Ensure both a safe working environment and a positive safety culture is in place through effective training, coaching and supervision of team members
*Provide clear leadership to the team through effective recruitment, selection, induction training and coaching and performance management
*Conduct regular, quality performance conversations and annual reviews, challenging and managing poor performance and capability issues in order to drive improvements in individual and team performance.
*Support a Continuous Improvement culture through personal involvement and engaging and coaching the team in the delivery of initiatives.
*Provide detailed written reports following on from accident / disciplinary investigations, customer complaints and Product Reject Notifications.
*Control labour cost through maximization of team members, plant efficiencies and the effective management of overtime.
*Provides detailed design, installation & commissioning plans for assigned projects
*Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping, hygiene and other manufacturing practices (GMP), are achieved and maintained
Skills and Qualifications
*Ideally have experience in a similar role with an understanding of managing a team
*Hands on Electrical Engineering experience
*HNC Electrical / NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship served
*Excellent knowledge and experience of utilising continuous improvement tools and techniques
*Demonstrable leadership and a proven track record of managing and developing people
