Engineering Team Manager / Lead Engineer

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for a hands-on electrical engineering team manager / leader, to manage the engineering operation.

Role & Responsibilities:

*Drive forward, improve and manage all maintenance aspects
*Be the sole electrician / electrical engineer, responsible for anything electrical related
*Leading a small team of engineers, to improve efficiencies, drive development & improvements
*Working on various production lines, automated machinery, PLC’s, power presses
*Leading and developing the engineering team
*Setting targets, monitoring KPi’s, influencing change
*Implement new maintenance strategies, PPM’s, cost saving ideas
*Responsible for health & safety, quality control, budget control & planning

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

*Role is going to suit a hands-on leader / lead electrician
*If you are working as a team leader / supervisor and want to take the next step up in your career with a growing and aspirational operation this could be the right role for you
*Must have strong people management skills, a strong communicator, influencer & leader
*Role is not going to suit someone who wants to just work from a desk
*Ideally have worked in the manufacturing industry
*Must be an industrial electrician / electrical engineer by trade
*Beneficial to have relevant electrical qualifications for safety purposes
*Able to electrically fault find on PLC’s and high-speed production/manufacturing machinery
*Have an understand of manufacturing efficiencies, quality, budget control, setting of targets
*Any experience of hydraulic power presses would be advantageous
*Have to be a “tough minded” – influence change, direct people to new places & develop them
*Must be a self-starter and driven character
*Have industrial knowledge of health & safety, continuous improvements, lean manufacturing

Shifts & Benefits Package:

*Salary:- £40,000-£43,500 – Monday-Friday Days
*Benefits:- Private Pension, Life Assurance X4, 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays, Various Benefits
