Our client is a leading fresh food products manufacturer that is dedicated to producing a variety of products that’s quality is recognised as second to none. Due to growth and £15 million pounds worth of investment in new production & packaging machinery, they are looking for a Controls/Automation/Instrumentation engineer to join their close-knit team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Become a champion on site with all PLC Siemens S7 related systems & control systems
• Monitoring controls, automation & instrumentation systems to analyse software timings, improvements & developments
• Dealing with instrumentation, temperature controls & pressure systems
• Working on all site-based building services, plant, manufacturing & facilities on site
• Drive continuous improvements and machine efficiency monitoring & development
• Tasks include working with both electrical & mechanical fault finding daily
• Working with PLC’s, automation systems, control panels, boilers, compressors, pneumatics, robotics, motors, gearboxes, pumps, ovens, weighers, labellers, wrappers, baggers

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be an automation specialist or controls & instrumentation engineer
• Be a PLC expert – Able to electrically fault find, modify & program – Siemens S7
• Must be a flexible person, working hours can vary so need to be able to work different shift patterns to suit the business needs and weekends
• Able to monitor systems, create developments and read PLC drawings
• Have a proven background of working with high-speed food manufacturing & production machinery
• Must have worked in a food or FMCG manufacturing environment
• Have knowledge of continuous improvement, machine development & lean manufacturing
• Willing to develop skills on state-of-the-art machinery & systems
• Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level – With time-served apprenticeship

Rotating Day Shift Rota:

Week 1:- Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm / Friday Off / Saturday 8am-5pm / Sunday Off

Week 2:- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm / Saturday Off / Sunday Off

Benefits Package:

• Salary:- £45,000 + Overtime
• Benefits:- Private Pension, Life Assurance, 25 Days Holiday
